Katsina Governor Aminu Masari has requested the House of Assembly to review the 2021 budget to accommodate the N6.25 billion recently approved by President Muhammadu Buhari for a ranch development programme in the State.


In a letter read by the Deputy House Leader, Ibrahim Dikko, during the plenary, Masari sought the approval of the Assembly to accommodate the N6.25 billion from the Federal Government in the budget for implementation of the ranching programme in the State.


The Governor said: “The amount released was not part of the 2021 appropriation law, which was passed by the assembly and assented to’’.

The Assembly approved the request letter forwarded to it and signed by the Governor during its plenary presided over by the Speaker, Alhaji Tasi’u Maigari.

The letter was read before the assembly by the Deputy Leader of the House, Alhaji Ibrahim Dikko, (APC-Matazu constituency).

It reads: “The Speaker may wish to be informed that a new Katsina State logo was presented to the State Executive Council on Thursday, June 24’’.

“The new logo depicts the historical antecedents of the people of Katsina State, and symbolizes the heritage, unity and authority of the state’’.

“It is as a result of the above that I wish to forward the issue to the honorable house for further legislative consideration’’.

“As we anticipate your expeditious consideration of the request, accept the assurance of high esteem and best regards.”

After deliberation and presentation of the new logo, the House adopted and approved the replacement of the Katsina State logo with the new one.
